Our Staff

The staff may consist of any combination of physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, athletic trainers and physical therapy aides. Adherence to stringent continuing education requirements is a must as is following the clinic's active teamwork approach philosophy. The service goal of an improved functional lifestyle will always be maintained.

Joe

Joseph S. O’Connor, PT, SCS, CSCS

Joe, the clinic director and owner of Advance PT & SR, has over twenty years of experience in the field of physical therapy. He has treated patients with numerous conditions in the clinic, hospital, homecare and workplace settings. Joe received a Master's Degree in Physical Therapy from Boston University.  He is an APTA board-certified Sports Clinical Specialist (SCS), demonstrating a high level of competency working with the athletic population. He is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), displaying in-depth knowledge of exercise techniques and specific adaptations as it pertains to human anatomy & physiology.  He is educated in rehabilitation, injury prevention, emergency care, and other areas related to the field of Sports Medicine.  Joe has several years of experience providing rehabilitation and field coverage services to athletes from youth to professional levels.   Having served as athletic trainer for Lynn Tech, Lynn English and local semi-pro teams, Joe is a well-known and respected member of the community. 

Justin

Justin L. Chapman, DPT

Justin graduated in 2007 with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell.  He also completed his undergraduate studies at UMass-Lowell, earning a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology and Nutrition.  Shortly after graduation, Justin accepted a position as a Physical Therapist at Advance PT & SR.  Prior to his employment here, Justin served as an instructor for a private personal training school, where he taught subjects including anatomy, muscle physiology and kinesiology.  Justin’s current clinical interests include prevention of musculoskeletal injuries, psychological factors in rehabilitation and recovery from chronic injuries.  A former high school and collegiate athlete, Justin has extensive knowledge of sport-specific training techniques.  Outside of his profession, Justin enjoys weightlifting, kayaking, fishing and spending time in Maine. 

Ted

Ted O’Toole, PTA

Ted graduated in 2004 with an Associates degree in Physical Therapy from North Shore Community College.  After graduating he accepted a position as a Physical Therapist Assistant at Advance PT & SR.  Ted has expressed interest in Pediatric Physical Therapy by providing physical therapy through the local Head Start program.  He also has demonstrated excellent results with the Kinesiotaping technique, a technique which has it’s roots in Japan and was used extensively in the 2008 Summer Olympics. 

Jacque

Jacque Loutsch, MS ATC
 
Jacque has been a certified athletic trainer since 2006 and received her license to practice in the state of Massachusetts in August of 2007.  Jacque is originally from a small town in Iowa and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in athletic training from the University of Northern Iowa in May of 2005.  She then moved on to graduate school at West Virginia University where she received her Master's degree in athletic training while rotating through affiliations with various rehabilitation teams.  Jacque now serves as the athletic trainer for Lynn English High School where she is responsible for athletic injury referrals and management.  Jacque also works outreach coverage for other local high schools when available.

Joseph Ortega

Joseph Ortega, PTA

Joseph graduated from North Shore Community College in 2008 with an Associates Degree in Physical Therapy.  Joseph has been with Advance PT & SR for several years, serving initially as a physical therapy aide and most recently accepting a position as a Physical Therapist Assistant.  Joseph’s clinical interests include sport-specific rehabilitation and core stability training utilizing the physio-ball.  In the future, he intends on pursuing Athletic Training.  Outside of his profession, Joseph enjoys exercising, traveling and spending time outdoors. 

Chantal

Chantal Jones, PTA

Chantal graduated from North Shore Community College in 2008 with her Associates Degree in Physical Therapy.  Following a clinical affiliation with Advance PT & SR through NSCC, Chantal accepted a position as a physical therapy aide while she continued to fulfill the requirements for her degree.  Shortly after graduation, she was offered and accepted a position as a Physical Therapist Assistant.  Chantal has prior experience working as a Certified Nursing Assistant, and she uses these skills to enhance her overall quality of care.  When not practicing Physical Therapy, Chantal is an avid actress and has recently participated in several productions.
